Terms of service.
The rules for using the index, submitting evidence, claiming a profile, and buying the two services we sell.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of btcemployers.com and the related pages, forms, communications, and services that link to or reference these Terms (collectively, the "Services"), provided by BTC Employers ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Services, submitting a form, claiming a profile, or purchasing a service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1.Eligibility and authority
You represent that you are at least 18 years old; that information you submit is truthful, accurate, and complete; that if you act for an employer you have authority to do so; and that any phone number or email address you provide is yours to use for the communications you request.
2.What the Services are
The Services let you browse an evidence-backed index of employers with Bitcoin employment signals, inspect the evidence behind published claims, submit evidence and corrections, claim an employer profile, and purchase the two services described in Sections 8 and 9. Our editorial rules are published at /methodology, /standards, and /editorial-policy and are incorporated into these Terms by reference.
3.What the index is not
The index is a directory of documented claims, reviewed on the dates shown. It is not employment, legal, tax, or investment advice; not a guarantee that any employer will hire, pay, or operate as described tomorrow; and not an endorsement of any employer. A "Verified" status means the stated claims were supported by evidence at review time, nothing more. You are responsible for your own decisions.
4.Privacy and communications
Your use of the Services is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference and controls as to privacy practices. By submitting a form or providing contact details, you agree that we and our service providers may contact you about your inquiry and related matters, subject to your consent choices and applicable law. Consent is not a condition of purchase or of inclusion in the index.
5.SMS and calling terms
This section applies if you provide a phone number. Where you have opted in, we may send text messages about your claim, verification, or inquiry. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time (STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT are also honored where supported), and HELP for help where supported. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to notify us if your number changes or is reassigned. We and our providers may log consent events, message events, and related metadata for compliance and dispute-resolution purposes. We honor revocation requests as required by law, within no more than 10 business days.
6.Submissions and responsibilities
When you submit evidence, corrections, or claims, you grant us a non-exclusive right to use that submission in our editorial process and, where appropriate, to publish resulting findings with sources. You agree not to submit false or misleading information; impersonate another person or employer; submit another individual's contact details without authority; interfere with the Services; upload malicious code; scrape or systematically extract the Services beyond any published data endpoints we provide for that purpose; or use the Services for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent ends. We may reject submissions or block access to protect the Services, our users, or the integrity of the index.
7.Employer claims and records
Claiming a profile is free and gives the employer a documented channel for corrections and updates. Claiming does not entitle an employer to removal of accurate, documented information, and it does not change editorial status. Employers are responsible for the accuracy of information they submit. Our published record states, review dates, and correction outcomes are determined by the editorial rules referenced in Section 2.
8.Verification service
Verification is a paid annual review: 100,000 sats per year. Payment buys a scoped review of the employer's Bitcoin employment claims, a dated public evidence record, a credential and badge kit, and an annual refresh. Payment never buys the outcome. An employer whose claims are not supported does not receive Verified status, and the review fee is earned when the review is performed, whatever its result. Fees are non-refundable once a review has begun. Verified status expires one year from the review date unless renewed. We may revoke a status that was obtained through false evidence, with the revocation noted in the record.
9.Spotlight service
Spotlight is paid, labeled visibility: 100,000 sats per 30 days. Every spotlight placement is disclosed as such wherever it appears. Spotlight never changes editorial status, ranking, facts, or the availability of any record, and is unavailable to employers whose records are in a Disputed state. Placement fees are non-refundable once the placement begins.
10.Payments in bitcoin
Service fees are denominated in satoshis and payable in bitcoin through our BTCPay Server checkout. A payment is complete when the invoice is settled on the network under the checkout's stated conditions. You are responsible for network fees, for sending the exact invoice amount within the invoice window, and for the tax treatment of your own payments. Underpaid or expired invoices may require a new invoice. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible by design; refunds, where we owe one under these Terms, are returned in bitcoin to an address you designate.
11.Intellectual property
The Services, including text, design, compilations, and the credential and badge marks, are owned by or licensed to us. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Services for their intended purpose. Verified employers receive a limited license to display the current credential and badge according to the kit's guidelines while their status is current. You may not use our name or marks in a misleading way, display a badge without a current status, or republish substantial portions of the index without written permission. Quoting individual records with attribution and a link is welcome.
12.Third-party services
The Services link to and integrate with third-party websites and tools, including employer sites, evidence sources, form and communications platforms, and payment infrastructure. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services; their terms and policies govern your use of them.
13.Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; that published information is complete or current beyond its stated review dates; or that messages and communications will be delivered on any particular timeline.
14.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our contractors and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or use, arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms. Our total liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
15.Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms or applicable law, your submission of another person's information without authority, or false evidence you submit.
16.Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Services, or stop communications, at any time without prior notice if we believe these Terms have been violated, to protect the Services or our users, or as required by law or platform policies. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination do survive, including payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and compliance records.
17.Electronic notices
You agree that we may provide notices and records electronically, by posting to the Services or by email, and that electronic records and signatures have the same effect as paper ones to the extent permitted by law.
18.Governing law and disputes
The Services are operated from the United States and are available globally; you are responsible for compliance with your local laws. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent superseded by applicable federal law. Talk to us first: nearly every dispute about a record is better resolved through the corrections process, and we commit to addressing concerns promptly and in good faith. Any legal action arising out of these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Spokane County, Washington, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
19.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and may provide additional notice where required. Continued use of the Services after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance.
